As we look forward to beginning the season of Advent, we are excited to read through Cynthia M. Campbell’s Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes as a congregation. If you would like to join us on the way to the four gospel homes, pick up your copy of the book from the tables in the narthex or in the Youth Building lobby. The books are free, but if you are able to give a suggested donation of $10 we would appreciate it. Thank you for joining us as we journey home this Advent.

We need your help! Please consider the opportunities to serve listed below:
Volunteer for Children’s Moments – Our youngest disciples love to hear about God’s word through the Children’s Moments on Sundays (and adults love to hear them, too!). Be part of the team that brings the message of love and hope to our precious children. You don’t need to stress about what to present: suggested messages that align with scripture and sermon of the day are provided in advance, which you can tell “as is” or edit in a way that makes sense to you. Contact Betty Hillyard to volunteer for this important ministry: firstname.lastname@example.org or 516-633-0901.
Jake Wells, Jeremy Grainger, and Tom Malcom will be hosting a tailgating event in the parking lot of Trinity UMC Blythewood on December 11 beginning in the morning and through the Blythewood Christmas Parade which begins at 2:00pm. They will be cooking pulled pork tacos. Feel free to attend when you can – whether after the 9:15am or 11:15am – service and stay for the fun and festivities during the parade.
All are welcome to join for this family-friendly event and are invited to bring their children, any favorite tailgating games, tailgating tents, and any food that they may want as an alternative to pulled pork tacos. We’ll look forward to seeing you there!
We’re excited for our next Wiggle Church coming up on Wednesday, December 14 at 5:00pm in the Youth Building. Children are the last group to return to church in the post-Covid culture. Wiggle Church is worship designed especially for young children and their grown-ups. In Wiggle Church, no one has to be on their best behavior. We encourage wiggling, giggling and exploring. If you would like more information or would like to help out, email Bonnie Riley at email@example.com
We are excited to say that we will be having the Regan Roberts Basketball League this year! The RRBL program is for children in grades 1st-8th.
Please be patient with us as this is the first season in two years. Registration is now open and is online only at the link below (no paper, phone, or in-person registrations will be accepted). Assessments will be the first week of November with practice starting the following week and games starting mid-November.
Please keep in mind that we will need coaches and assistant coaches (must pass a SLED check). You will be able to indicate interest on the registration.
If your children may have participated in the past but have aged out of the RRBL program, please consider forwarding this page to those that may be interested.
Click here to see the attached flyer for more details regarding leagues, assessments, practice and games.
Please let us know if you need anything else.
