Hi Abide!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! I am excited to be gathering together with you again.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
(Hebrews 10:24-25)
Since the start of Abide, we have connected with God and connected with each other. We have also learned about the sacraments of baptism and communion. To finish out the first half of our Abide year, we are going to look at community. We are a part of two larger communities—the town of Blythewood and our church community. And as the scripture above tells us, we are to go and interact with the communities we are a part of. So for the next two weeks, we are going out into these communities.
Sunday, December 6: We will meet at the Youth Building between 4:45pm and 4:50pm. Promptly at 4:55pm we will walk over to Blythewood Town Hall, partake in some refreshments, listen to some holiday music, and watch the Blythewood Christmas Tree lighting.
Sunday, December 13: We will meet at 5:00pm at the Youth Building and eat a meal. At 5:45pm, we will leave the Youth Building and go to several of our homebound members. Once we arrive at their homes, we will stand either in their front yards or on their porches and sing a few Christmas Carols to them. I will send out the list of Carols to you at the beginning of the week so you can start practicing!
I hope you can join us!
