We’re getting ready for our White Water Rafting Retreat!
When: September 3-5, Labor Day weekend.
What: White Water Rafting Retreat
Where: Ocoee and Nantahala Rivers, Copperhill, TN. (White Water Express campgrouds).
Who: middle and high school students and adult leaders.
Why: fun, fellowship and connection!
This is one of our most popular events! We travel to Copperhill, TN and the White Water Express campground. There we will eat, worship, and catch a ride to the river. WWE takes care of all of the arrangements, and it’s a great way to unplug from the world and connect with each other and God. Besides rafting, we will get a choice of paintball, horseback riding, or giant swing/ropes course. There is also hiking, bonfires, games and more!
Here are the important bullet points:
- Sign-up starts now and runs through August 18. The final sign up and money is due on this date. Money should never be the only reason that a student can’t come. Please let us know if you need assistance. The cost is $175 + cash for lunch on the ride home.
- Students younger than 12 are not allowed to run the Ocoee rapids. This a Department of Forestry regulation. Students 11 and under and those wanting a less extreme, but fun ride will do the Nantahala River.
- Covid vaccination cards or a negative test 24-36 hours prior to the trip will be required. Students feeling sick should be kept home.
- Parents are welcome to come, too! Please don’t listen to your students only– ask me about coming. We may need you!
Finally if you haven’t done so already, please fill out our TSM Information and Medical Release Forms. Students wanting to go on this trip will be required to have these forms completed and on file. Thanks!
