Sunday School - Adult
Sunday School represents an important part of our Christian life at Trinity. Classes are held between services on Sunday, from 10 to 10:45. With over nine different adult classes to choose from, there is one to fit everyone’s needs.
New members are invited to visit classes to find the perfect fit. Below is a list of classes currently meeting:
Alpha Class (Learning Cottage #4, near Youth Building)
A diverse group of adults actively participating in Christian learning through challenging discussions on contemporary and traditional topics. The texts used in our lessons tend to be from the Adult Bible Series of our United Methodist Church, but ventures into other texts and topics.
Emanon Class (Outside Sanctuary)
This diverse group of members comes from a variety of backgrounds and denominations. The teacher leads members of the class in challenging and informative discussions as they study a variety of topics. Relationships are built and last between members of the class-we’re always open to more members.”
Good News Class (Fellowship Hall, West Wing)
Good News is a diverse class of both single and married. This class enjoys having thought provoking discussions each week as they study the bible. This fun, relaxed group enjoys getting together outside of Sunday School through monthly luncheons and quarterly outings. “We truly enjoy our Sunday School class, we are family and friends in and out of class”.
The Hitchhikers (Learning Cottage #5, near Youth Building)
Destination? Abundant life with Christ! Get off the shoulder and back on the road with The Hitchhikers, a group of seekers made up of couples and singles, mostly ages 20’s to 40’s. The Hitchhikers will pick you up—spiritually! The group enjoys sharing engaging discussions and insights into becoming active, effective disciples of Jesus Christ. While extending a warm welcome to veteran Sunday School travelers, the Hitchhikers are eager to pick up those who may be new to the invitation to walk by faith.
Koinonia Class (Christian Life Center)
Koinonia class is a diverse class with a wide range of ages, mostly couples who enjoy study, fellowship, and serving in the church. The lessons are predominately related and five members of the class teach on a rotating schedule. There are many opportunities for fellowship with discussions on Sunday morning and parties in members’ homes. Koninonia supports many service projects including Salkahatchie, Christmas projects, and providing meals for those in crisis.
Life Support Class (Fellowship Hall, East Wing)
The Christian Life Support Class is a fellowship group with the purpose of becoming more like Christ in response to life. Led by His Holy Spirit, we focus on application, rather than preparation.
Men’s Class (Fellowship Hall, East Wing)
This group of men of all ages enjoys discussing current situations as they relate to the Bible. The Purpose Driven Life and The Man in the Mirror are two past studies. “No matter what the topic, somebody has an opinion”.
Seekers Class (Outside Sanctuary)
Seekers are a class of caring people who enjoy sharing in weekly bible studies. The majority of class members are active in the Hillclimbers, seniors who meet once a month for fellowship and programs. “Friendly class members have a great time sharing the Bible”.
Women Growing in Faith (Fellowship Hall, left of stage)
This is a class for women of all ages, situations in life, and levels of spirituality. The studies range from in-depth workbook studies to video commentaries. “The women grow to bond with each other and this provides for not only great fellowship within the class, but also outside of class and worship”.
The Word (Christian Life Center)
The Word, is a Sunday morning Bible study. As the Bible tells us, "Thy word is a lamp unto our feet." Come join friends in learning more about the Word and the roadmap to life God offers us in the Bible. Weekly reading will be lectionary based and include a few selections of scripture for class discussion.
Young Adult (Fellowship Hall, West Wing)
Our class is made up of young adults 18 to early 30's. Our class has open discussion of Christianity in the real world!
