Children ages 4yrs through 5th grade
If you are new to Trinity UMC, welcome and we’re glad you’re here! We hope you’ll get in touch with Bonnie Riley and fill out our contact form so that we can get to know you. Please also take a moment to follow us on Facebook @TrinityblythewoodChildren.
As the scripture teaches, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Prov. 22:6). Trinity Kids reaches out and reminds families that there is no age limit on learning about and sharing God’s love. At the center of our ministry are the three focused areas of spiritual formation at Trinity: connection, growth, and service.
Second Wednesday of the Month • 5:00pm • Youth Building: Wiggle Church is worship designed especially for young children and their grown-ups! This kid-focused time will include a free meal, worship, a bible lesson, and other activities. In Wiggle Church, no one has to be on their best behavior! We encourage wiggling, giggling and exploring.
If you would like more information or would like to help out, email Bonnie Riley at briley@trinityblythewood.com. All are welcome!
Sunday Activities
Contemporary Service • 9:15am • Youth Building: We have family tables available for quiet activities during the sermon or a connected, gated room for younger children to safely play while parents participate in the service.
Goals: Encourage children’s attendance in service, enable family worship, and show that God’s word and love is for all.
Kids Connection • 10:15am • Youth Building: This time is for further explanation of the verses and sermon of the day. It is also a time for the students to connect why we have the traditions we do and what they mean to us.
Goals: Study of the Word, ask questions, and connect how God’s love impacts our lives.
Children’s Church • 11:15am • Sanctuary & Fellowship Hall: After Children’s Moments during the service in the Sanctuary, children join together in the Fellowship Hall for a snack, a child oriented lesson, and activities related to the day’s verse and sermon. Students rejoin their family in the sanctuary prior to the end of service.
Goals: Grow children’s attendance in service, enable family worship, and connect the sermon to their daily lives.
Special Events
Trinity Kids hosts quarterly church-wide events reaching out to the Blythewood and surrounding communities. These are opportunities to enjoy fun and fellowship in a safe environment, sharing God’s love and word through activities and learning opportunities. We hope to see you at one of the following events: Summer Splash (August), Trunk ‘n’ Treat (October), Crafts & Carols (November/December), Spring Events (March/April), and VBS (June).
Goals: Service and outreach to the community while sharing God’s love.
